Euro exchange rates yesterday

THE pound to euro exchange rate is surging again after hitting a two-week low following the first round of the French election.

Alexandra Russell-Oliver, Currency Markets Analyst at Caxton FX, said: Paresh Davdra, CEO and Co-Founder of RationalFX said: Sterling has remained under pressure from the euro with analysts now looking towards the ECB meeting tomorrow. Investors will now be looking to see where the pound will go from here, with some anticipating a decline and others predicting a more positive outlook.

The pound is going through a turbulent time at the moment, leaving holidaymakers confused about the best time to get their currency. With the French election ending on Sunday May 7 and the UK General Election being held on June 8, all eyes are on how upcoming politics will affect the exchange rate.
