By Lucy Mae Beers For Daily Mail Australia. Shoppers have flocked to the only Brisbane Woolworths open on Labour Day with shocking photos revealing the queue snaked around the entire supermarket.

On Monday, most of the Queensland's Woolworths were closed for the public holiday and Brisbane Airport DFO's hour supermarket was the only store open in the city. Customers were seen flooding the store and even decided to return items after waiting over an hour to reach a checkout.

Customer Emma Cantrell posted footage of frustrated shoppers standing in line on Monday. She said some waited for an hour to reach the front of the queue and pay for their groceries. All Coles and Woolworths supermarkets were closed in Queensland on Monday for Labour Day with the exception of some express stores. National Retail Association chief executive Dominique Lamb said Labour Day should be a trading day across the state due to the demand from retailers.
