Takes about three minutes to make some good loot. When I was hurting for cash early on, I would just spend about 10 gold keys, keep any Items I wanted and sell the rest. The items that come out of the gold chest usually sell for very high prices compared to loot you find.

Nemo, I personally would suggest just playing the game normally. If you get to Level 50 or higher, beat TVHM, and are still a fair amount off from it, then consider keys.
